Corn Cheese Sandwich, a Vegan sandwich recipe

CORN CHEESE SANDWICH

Cooking time: 20 minutes                                                                           Serves: 6 



INGREDIENTS: 
  1. Bread slices
  2. Sweet Corn
  3. Chopped Onion
  4. Chopped Green Chilies
  5. Chopped Coriander leaves (Dhania) 
  6. Chopped Black Olives
  7. Grated Cheese 
  8. Fresh Cream
  9. Lemon Juice
  10. Chaat Masala
For Bechamel / White Sauce:
  1. Butter
  2. Flour
  3. Milk
  4. Chopped Garlic
  5. Salt
  6. Sugar
  7. Black Pepper Powder
  8. Mixed Herb


METHOD:
  1. Bechamel or White Sauce: In a pan add 2 tablespoons of butter. Let it melt. To the melted butter add 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic and fry for a minute. Next add 2 tablespoons of flour and fry in the butter until light brown in color. To this add 2 cups of milk and stir continuously with a whisk. Let the sauce bubble. Next add salt, sugar, black pepper powder and mixed herbs. Mix well and the bechamel sauce is ready. 
  2. In a bowl pour the bechamel sauce. To this add sweet corn, black olives, 2 heaped tablespoons of fresh cream and a pinch of chaat masala. Mix everything together and the corn mix is ready.
  3. In another bowl, add chopped onions, chopped coriander leaves, chopped green chilies. To this add lemon juice, salt and chaat masala. Mix thoroughly. 
  4. Take a slice of bread and apply butter on one side. On top of the bread add the corn white sauce mixture and level it out. On top of this add the onion mixture and distribute well. Add the grated cheese on top. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it. Sandwich it with another bread slice. Now it's ready to be grilled. 
  5. Using sandwich maker: Place the sandwiches on a sandwich maker and grill for around 2 minutes or until the outside is golden brown. 
  6. Without sandwich maker: Take a frying pan and add butter. On the melted butter place the sandwiches and grill both sides. 
  7. Corn Cheese sandwich is ready. Serve with mustard and tomato ketchup. Bon Appetite!! 


NOTE: 
  1. Using sweet corn is very important in this recipe. It adds a sweet contrast to the salty cheese. 
  2. Don't compromise on the cheese. Add as much as possible to have a cheese burst sandwich. 
  3. Don't forget to add fresh cream in the corn mix. It adds lightness in the mixture. 
  4. Chopped onion, coriander and chilies adds a fresh bite to the sandwich. Don't skip it.
  5. This sandwich is ideal for all age groups. Make this sandwich and I am sure you are going to get a lot of appraisal.
