Salted Mint Lassi or Sugar Free Lassi or Salted Spicy Lassi
Cooking time: 5 minutes Serves: 2
INGREDIENTS:
- Yogurt / Curd / Dahi (preferably homemade)
- Mint / Pudina leaves
- Lemon juice
- Lemon zest
- Salt
- Black salt
- Roasted Cumin (jeera) powder
- Chaat Masala
- Chilled water
METHOD:
- In a blender add 1 cup of yogurt. To this add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of lemon zest, salt according to taste, 1 teaspoon each of black salt, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala. Add 1 tablespoon of mint leaves.
- Next add 1 glass of chilled water.
- Blend for a minute.
- Pour in a glass. Garnish with mint leaves, sprinkle some chaat masala and black salt. Serve chilled. Bon Appetite!!
NOTE:
- Its an ideal drink for summer. Yogurt, mint and cumin has a cooling effect which soothes the body in harsh summer.
- This recipe doesn't require using of sugar unlike other lassi recipes. It's ideal for diabetic patients. It's very low in calories as well.
- Lemon juice and lemon zest adds a burst of freshness to this drink. So donot skip these 2 ingredients.
- Make sure to dry roast the cumin (jeera) and then grind it.
- Chaat masala is optional in this recipe.
