Mayonnaise or Mayo is our all time favorite Dip recipe. Its a very versatile dip with which we can make sandwich, salads, burgers, rotis, parathas or even as a dip with our favorite snacks. Although it has high amount of calories but still we are addicted to it.
In this Blog I have shared a 1 minute mayonnaise recipe which you can make at home using very simple ingredients with a Mixer Grinder. Yes you heard it right. Check out the Blog and also the video (click the above picture) and make mayo for your family and friends and also you! Bon Appetite!!

INGREDIENTS:
  1. Egg yolk or whole egg
  2. Oil
  3. Mustard
  4. Lemon juice or Vinegar
  5. Garlic cloves
  6. Salt
  7. Sugar
  8. Black pepper
  9. Red chilly flakes

METHOD:
  1. In a mixer grinder (or hand blender or a hand whisk) add in 1 whole egg, 1 cup of flavorless oil (vegetable oil or canola oil).
  2. To this add 1 tbsp of mustard, 1 tbsp of lemon juice or vinegar, 2 cloves of garlic, pinch of chilly flakes and black pepper powder. Then add salt as per taste and some sugar to balance the acidity of lemon juice / vinegar.
  3. Blend everything together until thick.
  4. Mayonnaise is ready. You can keep this in an air tight container and store in refrigerator up to 5-7 days.

NOTES:
  1. Mayonnaise can be made in several ways. You can use a simple hand whisk but it is a bit laborious. You can very well use a hand blender or electric whisk. But I always make mayonnaise in a mixer grinder i.e, a blender with 4 blade attachment (meant for wet ingredients) and the outcome is great every time. Try making mayo in the blender.
  2. Generally mayo is made with egg yolk only, but use of whole egg too gives a good result.
  3. Use freshly squeezed lemon juice. You can use vinegar in place of lemon juice.
  4. Do use a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity of the vinegar or lemon juice.
  5. You can skip use of garlic. But it gives a distinct flavor to the mayo and helps to cut away the raw egg smell.
