Bread Pizza Recipe on tawa

BREAD PIZZA

Cooking Time: 15 minutes                                                                                  Serves: 6



INGREDIENTS:
  1. Bread slices
  2. Chopped onion
  3. Chopped capsicum
  4. Chopped tomatoes
  5. Boiled corn
  6. Black olives
  7. Tomato ketchup or tomato concasse
  8. Grated cheese (Mozzarella or processed)
  9. Salt
  10. Black pepper
  11. Red chili flakes
  12. Mixed herbs


METHOD:
  1. In a mixing bowl, add chopped onion, chopped capsicum, chopped tomatoes and boiled corn. To this add salt as per taste, pinch of black pepper powder, mixed herbs and red chilly flakes. Mix the spices properly with the vegetables.
  2. For assembling the pizza, take a bread slice and spread some tomato ketchup on it. On top of it add the vegetable-spice mix and chopped black olives. Grate some cheese on the veggie mix and sprinkle some mixed herbs and red chilly flakes. 
  3. Heat a frying pan and add the bread pizza on the hot pan. Sprinkle some water on the hot pan along the sides. Close the lid and cook on a very low flame for 5-6 minutes until the cheese melts.
  4. Sprinkle some more herbs and chilly flakes and serve the hot bread pizza. Buon Appetito!!


NOTES:
  1. This is not a recipe of authentic Italian pizza but a rather easy and somewhat cheat version of it. Making the pizza dough can be difficult and time consuming (although if done right tastes heavenly!!) and you need an oven to bake pizza. Hence this recipe relieves you from the two laborious steps by using store bought bread and simply a pan respectively. 
  2. Use veggies according to your choice and seasonal availability. Mushrooms, broccoli, avocado, pineapple, cauliflower, asparagus can also be used. Go wild with your imagination.
  3. I have used the good old tomato ketchup again for convenience. If you can make or get hold of pizza sauce/pizza concasse please feel free to use it.
  4. Be generous with the cheese and sprinkle some chilly flakes and herbs on the grated cheese which helps to cut the bland flavor of the cheese.
  5. A hot frying pan with a close lid acts like an oven and cooks the pizza perfectly. Sprinkle some water which creates steam which further helps the process. But do remember to cook on a very low flame else the bread will burn and the vegetables wont be cooked and cheese will not melt.
  6. You can also bake the pizza in oven at 180 degree Celsius for 10-15 minutes.
