Biscuit Cake Recipe with Chocolate Ganache | 3 ingredient Cake

Chocolate Biscuit Cake with Chocolate Ganache

Cooking Time: 1:15hr                              Serves: 6-8



INGREDIENTS:

For making the Cake
  1. Biscuits ( Oreo/Bourbon/any chocolate biscuits- 200g/5 packets)
  2. Milk (1.5 cup)
  3. Baking powder (1tsp)
For making the Ganache
  1. Dark chocolate (100g)
  2. Milk (1 cup)
  3. Butter (2tbsp)

METHOD:

For making the Cake: 
  1. Grind the chocolate biscuits into a smooth powder. 
  2. To this add milk gradually and whisk to make a smooth batter.
  3. Add 1tsp of baking powder (or baking soda) and mix well. 
  4. Add the mixture in a well greased baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 for 30-40 mins. Or, Bake in a pressure cooker on medium flame for 40-45 mins. Or simply bake in a preheated pan on a stand on medium flame for 40-45 mins.
  6. Insert a toothpick in the middle to check whether its cooked through.
  7. Allow the cake to cool down to room temperature. 


For making the Ganache
  1. Chop the chocolate into small chunks.
  2. In a pan add all the 3 ingredients and let the chocolate melt. Don't cook on high heat. You will need only 3-4 minutes. The ganache may seem runny but once it will cool down it will start to thicken. 
  3. Cool the ganache to room temperature. 


For assembling the Cake:

  1. Carefully demould the cake and remove the parchment paper.
  2. Place the cake on a rack and gently pour the ganache all over it. 
  3. Garnish with almonds, sprinkles, gems, cherries as you wish. 
  4. Keep in the refrigerator for 2-8 hours for the ganache to set. 


NOTES:
  1. Take biscuits as per your choice. You can do the same recipe with other biscuits/cookies that doesn't contain chocolate. Check the amount of sugar. For sugar-free biscuits you have to add powder sugar to get the sweetness. 
  2. Make sure you grind the biscuits properly leaving no lumps. 
  3. Its important to beat it for atleast 10 mins for best result.
  4. While making ganache keep the pan on lowest temperature otherwise chocolate may burn.
  5. Cook the ganache only till the chocolate has melted. It may seem runny but it will thicken while it cools down.
  6. Its important to cool the frosted cake in refrigerator for best result.
